99 Days of a Training is a 99-part series that I will document my daily progress towards my first marathon. Each day I plan on recognizing a word or phrase that corresponds with that dayâs training. This series will conclude on May 6th, 2012 when I toe the start line (or somewhere in the back of the pack) at the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, OH.
Today’s word: recovery
Recovery is super important for athletes. While I’m not sure I’ll call myself an athlete I am still training for a marathon and have to take the necessary provisions.
This day though, recovery is two-fold. First, I’m recovering from my first full-week of my 15-week marathon training. Secondly, I am recovery from my splurge yesterday.
Just remember though, recovery is important…whether you run too much, lift too much, or eat too much (I don’t recommend the later, but every once in a while it is good to let loose).
