For the second straight week my marathon training took a small hit; this time thanks to the stomach bug. Sunday night I started feeling bad and through Tuesday my stomach felt like it was going to implode… That put me a few days behind, but really it is about the miles I get in, not the ones I don’t.
I was able to get out today and continue on my plan… I had originally planned to just do 3 (scheduled for 6) to make sure my stomach was okay, but after getting going I was able to get in all I had planned (and an extra tenth to boot).
So far I’m 9 miles behind on the week… not overly concerned at this point. I’ll get in my miles as a I go and that will be that. Would I be ecstatic to hit my goals each week? Of course. Does it mean defeat if I don’t? Maybe of the battle, but not of the war.
On a much higher note, somewhat (okay, mostly) thanks to the stomach bug I finally overcame a ‘weight-hurdle’ that I couldn’t break. Many times over the past few weeks I’ve hit this same number, but until yesterday hadn’t broke it. That puts me at the lowest I’ve been in who knows how long… 15-17 years I’d guess. I’m very close to my next major goal (less than 3 lbs), and well on target to reaching my ultimate goal.
Speaking of my ultimate goal, I’ve set a date goal to reach it… May 31st. Seeing as how all my analysis is based off my weight on May 31st, 2010 I figured that is an appropriate date…the 2 year anniversary of this new venture of my life. If successful I will have lost 143lbs during those 24 months. Currently I’m only 14.8lbs away from that goal. Using a great app on my tablet I’m able to not only track my weight-loss(as well as analytics) but I’m able to see a line-graph that will allow me to see where am I am in relation to achieving that target. As long as I’m under the blue I’m okay. The red line is my 7-day trend… basically figures out what I’ve done over the last 7 days and assumes I will continue that trend. As you can see currently the red spreads further from the blue, which means if I keep up my trend I’ll hit my goal weight much sooner (as of now April 1st) than my actual date.
