99 Days of a Training is a 99-part series that I will document my daily progress towards my first marathon. Each day I plan on recognizing a word or phrase that corresponds with that day’s training. This series will conclude on May 6th, 2012 when I toe the start line (or somewhere in the back of the pack) at the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, OH.
Word of the day: Hills.
This word is brought to you by the letter ‘PAIN’ and the number ’11.25′. Okay, I know ‘PAIN’ is a word, not a letter, but I was trying to make it Sesame Street-ish. I was able to get in a painful, hilly 11.25 miles today at the Legacy Trail. The plan only called for 10 but since I have a rest day tomorrow and missed 2 runs earlier in the week I figured an extra bit won’t hurt. Well, it hurt.. but I don’t think that I would be any less sore had I stopped with 10.
