Why is it you can’t eat just one slice of pizza? After being late getting home thanks to a mess at the bank trying to get my car loan moved we decided to go quick and order a pizza for dinner. Why is it no matter how much you know that pizza isn’t healthy, you can’t stop at one.. or two.. or three slices? I guess because they aren’t filling, or maybe just they are good (if you get it from the right place)?
Anyway, 1320 calories later of pizza I set out to go jogging at the gym. As I was leaving I realized I was an idiot that didn’t have my phone charged. I always rely on my phone for two purposes: 1) music, 2) a lap counter/stopwatch (both so I’ll know how fast each lap is and more importantly so I don’t have to track how many laps I’ve went since 1 mile = 20 laps at my gym). By the time I made it to the gym it had charged back to 24%. I hoped that would be enough, alas I was sorely mistaken.
After about 2 miles it gave me the 15% beep, and I thought that’d be good, only 9% in the last half hour.. but I think that final 15% lasted another 15 minutes as it cut at right at the 3 mile mark. Normally I’d post my lap count from my gym visits, but that got toasted when it dropped. Along with that, my exact lap count was with it. Luckily I had a good idea since I was anticipating the 5k mark approaching so when it died I assumed I was on lap 60. Once back in the truck and on charge I was able to pull up the app and verify that indeed, I was on lap 60.
So, lessons learned tonight: don’t eat 1320 calories of pizza and try to jog 4 miles with 24% battery life. It ain’t gonna happen. (Well, the 4 miles did happen)
Instead of my normal basketball routine I spent about 8 minutes on an elliptical afterwords. The court was too full so I headed to the wellness center to get in a bit more cardio, just to push my workout past the 1,000 calorie mark.
The lost story:
This was a busy weekend, so I forgot to post about my run on Saturday. Saturday was a beautiful day to go outside, and I did just that. I got in 4 miles and took in the glory of a nice spring day.
